Marina Abramovic

Marina Abramovic born in Yuguslavia 1946, she is considered one of the pioneers in working with performance and visual art.

She uses the body as her main subject and her medium and touches on subjects related to pain, exhaustion, danger, vulnerability.

She has an extensive collection of solo works which includes:

FREEING THE BODY (1975)

THE HOUSE WITH THE OCEAN VIEW (2002)

One of her latest works is called THE ARTIST IS PRESENT in which she performed for 3 months at MoMA in New York, in which she sat motionlessly and in silent at a table facing an empty chair and the visitors of the museum were invited to sit with her.
