Marcel Duchamp

He was part of the revolutionary development in the plastic arts in the beginning of 20th century. He started as a cubist painter moving towards to another direction which was the Dada movement. During the World War I , he rejected the works from that period, calling them “retinal “ Art, intended to please the eye and instead Duchamp wanted to use art to serve the mind.
